A poem by Jose Orez:

From: Coordinator of Volunteer Services

“We have a young man, thirty-six, on hospice
who has a very young child.
They want someone to help him do a life review
and perhaps put some pictures together
for he and his wife
so the child will know him.
Call me if you are willing to do this.”

The next time, friend, your life seems too hard,

    Now there’s a wake-up call! Thanks Holy Rover…

  2. Darcy says:

We have just had a very similar situation very close to home. Thankfully, his children were in high school and junior high. Just not enough but any way you look at it, it isn’t enough time. I have been blessed with so much time. Seventeen more years than the man in the poem, five more years than our friend, nine more than a near-death experience I had. What would those families give for the time I’ve had? It has occupied my thoughts and influenced the way I walk through these days. And thanks to the Holy Rover, instead of constantly worrying about doing things with that time, I have permission to sometimes simply sit and let the cat roll around at my feet.
